Dive Deeper Into Our Stories

Steve Kaloper | CEO / Founder

As Founder and CEO of Development Services Group and Doing Good Better, Steve offers fundraising strategies for non-profits integrating various aspects of the donor-cultivation process. As Co-Founder and CEO of the Kingdom Capital Group, Steve developed the concept of Impact Philanthropy, a results-oriented approach to giving—and a key aspect of the New Wave of Philanthropy.

Steve grew up and began his career in Southern California serving on staff of a mega-church in Newport Beach. His career continued as a full-service registered financial advisor with Smith Barney and Merrill Lynch. He then served as Director of Development for the Family Research Council based in Washington, D.C. before joining the private sector as Director of Marketing for a direct mail marketing agency serving organizations such as The Salvation Army which was sold on Wall Street. Steve then engaged his true passion serving non-profits as a consultant to numerous non-profits including V.P. of Marketing and Development for Ravi Zacharias International Ministries.

Born and raised in Southern California, he and his wife of nearly 30-years, Shannon, have four incredible kids and reside in Atlanta, Georgia. Desiring is to live a life of transparency, integrity, and to equip and empower their kids to do good. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the School of Social Ecology at the University of California Irvine.

Steve currently serves on several non-profit and corporate boards. In 2015, he authored his first book, “ The Journey Into DoingGoodBetter!”

Whitney Omondi | Foundations Specialist

Growing up with an interest in international development, Whitney has been traveling and learning from the successes and struggles of non-profits since she was 12 years old. Mission trips to Nigeria, Kazakhstan, Mexico, and Czech Republic cemented her passion for working alongside local communities to bring about change.

After majoring in both Public Relations and Sociology at the University of Georgia, she stayed on to also earn a master’s in non-profit management. She loves turning the strategic principles she’s learned into practice, recognizing that every organization is unique and one size does not fit all. She spent 3 years traveling back and forth between Kenya and Texas for an international non-profit, leading their grant writing, communications, capacity building, and program development.

Whitney is now back in her hometown of Atlanta, where she lives with her husband and their daughter.

Danielle has journeyed up and down the Appalachian mountains, across the nation, and over oceans in pursuit of her goal to see the kingdom of God come on earth as it is in heaven.

After completing her degree in Pre-Education, Danielle exchanged academic life for the life of a Balkan missionary. For two years she worked alongside a local church in Serbia, praying for the city of Belgrade, equipping leaders in children’s ministry, and discipling young adults coming out of Belgrade’s drug culture. After returning to the States, Danielle continued to pursue her passion for raising up the next generation, serving as Site Director at a local daycare and learning center. Her background in early childhood education has given her a love for simple communication – if you can tell it to a child, you can tell it to an adult.

Danielle and her husband are co-leaders in prayer and worship ministry at their home church in southwest Virginia. In her spare time, you can find Danielle making elaborate feasts for her family, going on “super-dates” with her husband, or re-reading one of her favorite classics (probably for the 20th time)!

Whether teaching young Greeks on the sun-soaked shores of Thessaloniki or interceding from Mt. Vodna in Macedonia, Amy entered adulthood in the Orthodox Balkans. Amid a symphony of Greek, African, and Albanian cultures she developed leadership skills, confronted religious barriers, and found a deep love for those eastern nations. She also travelled extensively to Lebanon, Germany, and Sweden for the purpose of igniting hearts with the love of God through worship, prayer, and discipleship. The Holy Spirit, family, and servant-hood shape her desire for city transformation. With this heart, Amy passionately believes in helping others reach their full potential so that the Kingdom is advanced.

Amy graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature and writing from VA Tech where her love of the written language was honed. She has taught creative writing, English as a second language, and written for a UK based blog. As a part of the DSG team, Amy intends to utilize her writing to further other ministries and nonprofits in their God destinies. Perhaps her greatest appetite lies with composing songs, and leading worship at Dwelling Place Christian Fellowship which is settled in the mountains of Christiansburg, VA. She has been part of that body and their leadership team for nearly 14 years.

In her spare time, Amy can be found with a riveting sci-fi book, playing the guitar, or hopping a plane to a distant country.

Meredith Thomas | Event Coordinator

Meredith began her calling in ministry as a worship leader with an inner city ministry located in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia. While serving alongside her husband and her then younger children, Meredith’s compassionate heart reached out with love for the homeless, especially for the children. She was never afraid of sitting in the gutters with them, loving on them and wiping tears from their faces. She served actively for 11 years in this inner city ministry.

Currently, along with leading worship with her home church at Bethel Atlanta, Meredith also plays an integral role on staff with the School of The Supernatural. She enjoys teaching and discipling people helping them find their true identity in Jesus Christ. Meredith’s passion in her relationship with God makes her a prophetic force of life that affects and infects people around her bringing them the hope of the Kingdom of God. She walks in her true identity as a lover of Jesus by bringing His Presence powerfully through her singing and walking in commitment in relationships.

As Meredith has been leading worship for over 20 years, she has great fervor in developing young worship leaders by imparting her wisdom and reminding them the main thing is always Jesus. In addition, her heart beats passionately for unity to come to the body of Christ.

Meredith’s interest and hobbies are spending time with her husband and her children, writing music, exercising and reading.
